FAQs

Women’s hormones start to fluctuate in the mid-thirties as well. This is called perimenopause which is followed by menopause. Men’s testosterone drops 1-3% a year after age 35. Symptoms for men are similar to women; but also include erectile dysfunction, lack of motivation, and inability to maintain muscle mass. Hormone deficiency in women can cause anxiety, low libido, weight gain, moodiness, hot flashes and night sweats. These can be alleviated, as well as long term benefits such as, heart health, increased bone density, and mental sharpness.

Men and women can both benefit from bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Labs are drawn prior to the procedure to determine if the patient is hormone deficient. After labs have resulted the practitioner will determine if the patient would benefit from hormone replacement therapy.

You can expect to experience the following: relief from hot flashes, more stable moods, better sleep, increased energy, better sex drive, mental clarity, ability to manage weight, increased bone density, better heart health, and improved relationships.

Pellets deliver consistent, healthy levels of hormones for approximately 4 months in women and 5 months in men. The pellets dissolve completely on their own during this time. They avoid the fluctuations, or ups and downs, of hormone levels (roller coaster effect) seen with every other method of delivery. This is important for optimal health and disease prevention. In studies comparing pellets to conventional hormone replacement therapy, pellets have been shown to be superior for relief of menopausal symptoms, maintenance of bone density, restoration of sleep patterns, and improvement in sex drive, libido, and sexual response and performance.

Very few insurance companies cover the cost of pellets. Payment is required at the time of service. Prevention is much more cost effective than disease.

Bio-identical hormones are the exact same chemical structure that the patients are born with. Synthetic hormones are not the same chemical structure but are similar analogs when compared to bio-identical hormones. Synthetic hormones can cause life-threatening side effects because they interfere or block proper hormone receptor function. With bio-identical hormone replacement, this risk is eliminated.

Bioidentical hormones have the exact same cellular structure and makeup as the hormone naturally made by the hormone body, so yes — they are safe.

All risks, confusion, and negative press linked to “hormone replacement” have been extrapolated from their synthetic counterparts.

At first glance, this seems logical. However, it isn’t accurate.

Human beings peak physically between 18-25. To prove this, all we have to do is look to professional sports, where the world’s greatest athletes struggle to remain competitive beyond the age of 30.

What’s more, is that life expectancy for a human being didn’t surpass the 45 until the 1950s.

So, from a historical standpoint, humans haven’t ever needed optimized hormones after 35.

Bioidentical hormone optimization is a critical component to peak human performance, warding off chronic disease, and longevity.
